After reading Madisoncartr’s blog post on the varying ways a behaviourist, cognitivist and constructivist would teach the same subject, it solidified my own view of how I would identify my own teaching practice. I thoroughly enjoyed how each learning theory had a brief description, tools and examples that teachers would employ when implementing each theory and desired learning outcomes.
I agree with your conclusion of how each theory has its strengths and weaknesses and that some strategies will work better for some learners over others. However, I’m curious, after reading your post, which theory do you connect with the most? As a learner or instructor? And which theory do you think provides learners with the skill set to thrive outside of the classroom and throughout their lives?
